Nude Art LA September 2018 Show Poster

Riding high on the success of the March 2018 show, Nude Art LA surged forward to its next show just six months later in September 2018. Given the success of the original event (despite having a budget of zero), we decided to take a more aggressive approach to our second outing. We found a much larger and more purpose-built space in Art Share LA, a not-for-profit art gallery and artists’ collective.

The second show so thoroughly eclipsed the first show that, for many, it was when Nude Art LA was truly born as a must-see event in Los Angeles. The show featured the work of some 64 artists from across the United States and worldwide. Many of these artists are considered to be at the top of their fields, having exhibited at hundreds of galleries and festivals, including one whose work has been seen at the Louvre in Paris, France, and another whose work was once displayed at the National Gallery in Washington, D.C.

The performances at this event rose to epic new levels of entertainment. They included a one-act play by Nicholas Tana starring Nina Hartley, burlesque performances by Michelle L’Amour and Laura Desiree, an outrageous straight-jacket striptease by the incomparable Bangs the Clown, live musical and body paint performances by Rome da Luce, an aerial pole dancing demonstration, belly dancing, live art technique demonstrations, and many more.

Expecting just a few hundred guests, the event ended up hosting over 1,000 in just four hours! The Art Share LA’s bar sold out just after 9 p.m. and temperatures soared in the space, which lacked air conditioning, yet guests did not seem to mind terribly as they continued to pour in throughout the night. Reviews after the show were glowing, with attendees approaching us in droves asking when the next show would happen, how they could exhibit their work, where to go to get on our mailing list, and more.

The entire event was covered by multiple news outlets, most notably Naked News who generously provided us with their segments after they aired so we could display them on our site. We also had the honor of being interviewed by Ralph Garmin for his podcast The Ralph Report.
